An avid outdoorsman and conservationist, Mark Walker provides business oversight and operations strategy for Upland Dogworks.
Mark grew up chasing bobwhite quail throughout the green hills of northern Missouri behind many a fine and not-so-fine gun dog. Back in the 60s and 70s, quail were plentiful and hunting land was easy to find. Given today’s limited access to quality hunting land, he has broadened his search for wild birds, and now hunts throughout the Midwest and Great Plains. Mark is an active supporter of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever.
In 1995, Mark got his first dog trained by the Rohners. “Sparky,” a snappy little orange and white female, was from Winchester of Hanging Jaze, the winner of the 1995 National Open Gun Dog and recent Brittany Hall of Fame inductee. Rob trained and lightly campaigned Sparky for four years, qualifying her every year for the Gun Dog Nationals. She lived a full life as a great family pet and consummate upland bird dog and had many successful hunts throughout the Midwest.
Mark’s commitment to the upland bird dog led him to develop Upland Dogworks. His vision is to provide an environment that supports smart breeding programs for the American Brittany, and offers a full-service training and boarding kennel that can develop a pointing bird dog that fits your needs.
